A Marvel of Steel Craftsmanship
Blue Atlantic Fabricators has meticulously crafted this extraordinary floating dock, a testament to their expertise in steel fabrication. The dock was designed to meet the highest standards of quality and durability, ensuring a safe and efficient transportation link for the people of Boston.
White Marine, Inc., a leading marine contractor, will oversee the finishing and installation of the docking system at the multi-use Lovejoy Wharf property on behalf of developer Related Beal. The project’s ambitious timeline required completion by the end of 2018, with the eagerly awaited ferry and water taxi services set to commence in the first quarter of 2019.

A New Dawn for Blue Atlantic Fabricators
This monumental project marks the maiden endeavor for Blue Atlantic Fabricators since its establishment as a subsidiary of Boston Harbor Cruises (BHC). Rick Nolan, Principal of BHC, reflects on this exciting journey, saying, “BHC recognized the tremendous potential within the fabrication market, and it’s truly exhilarating that our inaugural project supports water transportation right here in Boston Harbor.”
The strategic location of the Blue Atlantic facility on the East Boston waterfront, equipped with deepwater access and heavy tonnage berthing capabilities, positions it perfectly to supply structural steel components to the burgeoning U.S. offshore wind industry constructors and developers. Additionally, it emerges as an optimal source for potential boat builds, aligning perfectly with BHC’s vision to expand its fleet.
Nolan concludes by emphasizing the historical significance of Blue Atlantic Fabricators: “Production at Blue Atlantic Fabricators stands as a shining example of Boston’s working port, preserving skilled trade right here in Massachusetts. It also represents the next step in BHC’s mission to provide top-quality, local services and unwavering support to the burgeoning East Coast wind and energy market.”
Blue Atlantic Fabricators’ commitment to excellence in steel fabrication, coupled with its strategic location and partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises, is set to elevate Boston’s waterfront transportation and contribute significantly to the city’s dynamic growth and development.
